Tips to Outclass Your Competition - Buffet Line Etiquette

The holiday season is upon us and you may be invited to parties or celebrations. Many times, food is served buffet style. Buffet lines can be difficult. Follow these rules to help you get through the holiday season with grace and style.

  • Don’t head immediately for the food. Do go to your host first and thank them for inviting you.
  • Don’t fill your plate so full that the food is overflowing. Do go back a second time if you want a little more.
  • Don’t use your fingers to serve yourself. Do use serving utensils.
  • Don’t eat in line. Do take your plate away from the line to eat.
  • Don’t complain. Do act satisfied.
  • Don’t double dip chips or vegetables in sauces or dips. Do place the dip on your plate and move away from the buffet line to eat.
  • Don’t wander uninvited into other rooms. Do respect your host’s privacy.
  • Don’t neglect those who may need assistance. Do offer to help guests who would appreciate your help in getting them a drink or filling their plate.

Be on your best behavior, thank your host again as you leave, and you will be remembered as a Gracious Guest and not a Buffet Buffoon. Happy Holidays!

It’s the simple rules that make you stand out from the crowd. If you have an event coming up and want to know the rules of the game, call 405-341-3216 for a hands-on training session. It’s better to know the rules and not need them, than to need the rules and not know them.

The Coach’s Corner – A Perfect Life – if not now, when?

You’ve heard it said that life is a journey, not a destination. While on the journey, it’s important to enjoy the moment. It’s well documented that as people get older, they often look back on their lives and recognize that this is where they were headed all along. They just didn’t recognize it because they were so busy making their way. Why wait until you are older to learn this lesson? Life is meant to be enjoyed and relished. If you don’t enjoy life now, then when? One of the programs I offer my clients is “7 Steps to a Perfect Life.” What are the key elements of a perfect life for you?

    Coaching questions:
  • How would I describe a perfect life for myself?
  • What do I have right now that is perfect?
  • What would I like to be a part of my perfect life?
  • Is it do-able?
  • A perfect life – if not now, when?
  • Who can help me design and craft a perfect life?

If enjoying the journey is part of your dream, I can help you. You can do this! Call today for your no-obligation, coaching session. This 30-minute confidential session will give you the experience of coaching. To schedule your session, call 405-341-3216.
